We've reached the end of this autumnal month, and as such, here is the last weekly showcase of September. Make sure you go and have a look at all the previous paintjobs and artists we have seen this month!
1) @theboldbear
First up today is this charming pacifist. When I first came across this paintjob, I realised it was very similar to my own colour scheme I came up with for the Tyranids. So it brought a small tear to my eye, seeing somebody do it better. I'm glad they have though, as it's great to be reminded that there's always more to learn! This paint job is super cool, with the perfect contrast between carapace and skin. The highlighting has been performed at an excellent level. I strongly advise you to go check out this artist's other work!
2) @mayorking1982
I don't believe I had featured any Necromunda before this month but now we've had at least two, what a treat! Shying away from the normal gritty style of these sculps, this artist has created an exceptional piece of art, making the model look like it was ripped from a medieval oil painting. I love the mix of purple and varying degrees of pale blue. The work on the OSL from the candle has also ben masterfully achieved. Overall, just a really cool and expert painting style. Go and have a look at all of the other wonderful paintjobs on this artists page!
3) @minisforwar
Up next is a magnificently painted magnificent beast. This artist has done al the justice in the world on this model, allowing it to look royal and profound through the wonderful paintjob. The shades of blue are captivatingly beautiful, and bounce off the pink to great effect. But perhaps the best part of this paintjob (and ironically the part I haven't really shown) are the wings. The paint job is astounding, replicating a pink sunset/rise, and would be fitting framed on the wall. I cant recommend you checking it out for yourself any more, so please do it now!
Our final piece of this week and therefore September, is this incredible feat of OSL mastery from Kamil. The model is painted to an incredibly high standard, with great effort applied to highlighting and catching the light through the use of tones and shades. However, it is the OSL that puts the paintjob into another league. It has been so well done, that it almost looks like someone is shining a light to the side of the model. I understand that's the point of OSL, but I haven't seen many attempts better than this. If you want to check out more mastery, then go to Kamil's page!
That's it for September! Things are about to start getting cold (in this miserably grey country anyway) so it's about time you started warming yourself up. There's only one real way to do this, and that's by blowing your own mind by checking out all these wonderful artists and their respective paintjobs. (Please note: looking at painted miniatures is in no way, a helpful protection against hyperthermia).
