Hello and wlecome to the last showcase of October. Have you seen something spooky yet? Or maybe the pure inspiration dripping from your brow is scary enough? Either way, let's get in these last four artists and their works before November comes around.
1) @jonathandevosart
Jonathan is kicking things off for us today, with this rather charming little goblin. Painting such detail on such a small scale is always mind blowing, picking out areas of rust as small as a grain of sand. Really cool to see a squig painted in a different scheme too, and I just love the way those lips blend into the skin (yes, that is the first time I've ever said that). Jonathan has found a lot of success with Golden Demon, getting three commendations earlier this year. Go check out his page and his awesome work, and you'll see why!
We've got a custom space marine scheme up next, in the form of this purple dude. Its a colour palette that looks so much better than the poster boy blue. Also, krakens are pretty cool right? the highlighting on this piece is so clean and expertly applied, bringing out the detail even when looking at from afar. Perhaps my favourite aspect of this piece, is the masterful work on the lenses and lights; such incredible detail for something so very small. Do yourself a massive favour, and go check out this artist's page!
Have you ever looked at the Nighthaunt and thought 'these guys should look a little more Japanese'? Well if so, here you are! This artist has taken this cool sculpt, and make it even cooler by giving it some form of kasa, changing the entire atmosphere of the model. I can already see the anime fans lining up! The paint job itself is wonderfully done, with clean and concise painting and blending. Whilst I often say I'd like to see a whole army of a particular paint job, I really do want to see an entire Japanese themed Nighthaunt army. Please go check this artist out for more wonderful work!
4) @tsukuru_paints
Ending things for us today is Scott and his beautiful Idoneth model. This is a super cool model, and the paintjob has done more than enough justice on it. The blending of the blues and purples are beautifully eye-catching, and absolutely looks like it should have been the box art scheme. The rider's face and skin has also received some expert artistic attention. However, it's the basing that really gets me going, creating the most realistic water and waves I've maybe ever seen. Absolutely inspiring stuff, and if you think so too, check Scott's page out!
That's all October wrote! I truly hope you've enjoyed this months offerings, found a new favourite artist, received some artistic inspiration, and avoided kicking that irritating and obnoxious kid vaping on the morning commute. If you've succeeded in all of that, I think you can call this month a success. Careful now, you might become unstoppable... Also, I just want to thank @antpaintsminis for his help and effort in sharing the good word of these showcases, and has caused a number of people to finally reach out to be featured! This blog is all about sharing each other's work, and Anthony has helped spread that goal, so you have my eternal gratitude.
If you would like to be featured in the future, then please get in contact via plasticpreacher@gmail.com or @plasticpreacher on Instagram.
See you in November!
