Weekly Showcase - October 18th 2023

Hello again old friend, and welcome back to another weekly showcase. Despite creating these showcases for half a year now, I still haven't had anyone reach out to me to be a part of it, as it's always me reaching out to the artist. In case you were unaware, you're more than welcome (encouraged, actually) to contact me to get a piece of your art featured. Maybe looking at the artists featured today will give you the kick up the rear you need?

Kicking things off for us today is Anthony with this pretty awesome stormcast. I think this is perhaps my favourite colour scheme I've seen for these guys, making them much more interesting and colourful, without losing that intimating style they possess. Anthony has absolutely nailed that NMM for the gold, which perfectly compliments that amazing shade of burgundy. It really is a simple but beautiful scheme, and one that I'd very much like to see across an entire army. If you'd also like to see that, then maybe go check out Anthony's page, and harass him to do so!

If you were ever wondering what happened to Schrodinger's cat, well look no further. This artist has taken this magnificent feline beast, and turned it all kinds of cosmic. With extreme patience and skill, she has managed to accurately paint real star constellations onto the body of this galactic kitten, which only become more impressive the closer you inspect it. And just to make sure the cat stays grounded, it's face has been painted in a charmingly normal way. I really advise you to go check out this artist's page!

This was the model that started my love affair for Tzeentch, so I'm always happy to see what other people do with it. This artist has done an incredible job at making no mistake which chaos god this fella is sucking up to. Utilizing a beautiful shade of turquoise, it contrasts amazingly against the pale pinks, as well as the NMM gold trims. The little added detail of the glow from the eyeholes warms my own eyeholes. This artist has a load more amazing Tzeentch paintjobs, so make sure you go give them a look!

Finishing off today is the most ridiculously mind blowing freehand on a miniature scale, I have ever seen. I spent a good 15 minutes trying to comprehend the skill, patience and vision required to create something as astoundingly beautiful as this. My words could never be enough to comment on this, so I really need you to take a minute to look for yourself. And when you're finished, go and look at his page, as clearly Johnny likes to punish himself further, with perhaps the most incredible skill and detail I've seen yet.

That's all we've got for today. I want to just reinforce your imperative need to go look at Johnny's page, because I honestly can't believe the skill required to master the miniature freehanding this man seems to have so easily perfected on display on his page. Though you should be checking out every artists page regardless, as they all deserve your time and attention.

And I'd also like to reinforce, that you should contact me to get your work featured. Just maybe not if you're equally as good at freehanding, because to be honest, my poor retinas can't take any more visual stimulation like that without exploding.

If you would like to be featured in the future, then please get in contact via plasticpreacher@gmail.com or @plasticpreacher on Instagram.

Thanks!
