Weekly Showcase - November 8th 2023

Well hello there, welcome to another edition of our weekly showcases. We've got a nice varied bunch for you today, so get your retinas ready and off we go!

Starting the engine today is Beata, with her really awesome take on this plague ridden soul. Most Nurgle related paintjobs often come in that sickly green colour, or very weathered and covered in vomit and puss. Now whilst I do like that (obviously), I find myself in awe of this original take on them. The armour is such an amazing shade of teal, and painted with such skill. It pops so well, that my eyes almost can't take the visual stimulation. Beata has clearly mastered the NMM technique, which only helps to accentuate the armour. And of course all the little details bring it all together. Truly a fantastic paint job, and well worth checking out her page to see her other incredible works!

Next up is this absolute looker. Never have I come across a more grotesque looking sculpt, it's amazing. Ben has given this charming lump all the justice he deserves, with a great paint job that covers all the bases. The pinker tones of the skin that surround the foreign objects, just makes my skin crawl, in all of the right way. I love that a piece of art can send shivers down your spine, that's true artistic power there. So if you like what you see here, go check out Ben's page for more of his great work!

What's that? I haven't shown off a cool little reptile in a while? Well shut up, because here's one now, you impatient fool. Rach has provided us with a really cool colour scheme for our favourite lizard brethren. I'm always caught between deciding on red or blue for these guys, but Rach decided to screw it and do both. That was a good choice as the paintjob looks great on the model, whilst also feeling fresh. A whole army of these guys would be awesome to see...hint hint. Go check out some more of Rach's work!

Closing the show for us is this aptly named artist, providing us with this awesomely customized LOTR orc. This artist makes a habit of always converting their models, with some being modelled after various characters from the movies. This one even incorporates elven armour, in which he 'stole'. Setting aside the amazing work of kitbashing, the paintjobs are also wonderful across the board. It honestly makes me want to sack off Warhammer for LOTR. Please go check out their page to see awesome original work!

That's all she wrote my friends. Who is she? What was she writing? What does that phrase even mean? What are words? Who am I?

Sorry, I got a little caught up there. We'll blame the over stimulation I received from these models, and the pure inspiration that's now coursing through my veins. Yes, that is inspiration, and nothing else.
