Happy November to one and all. You've only got another month or so, and then you can say you've survived another year. Let me be the first to congratulate you on such an impressive feat. Your reward? It's another showcase for you to feast your eyes on!
1) @clayton_paints
Getting the ball rolling today is Clayton with this spooky bat mother. Halloween was only yesterday so it's fine, shut up. Clayton has got that cool and cold colour palette locked down, working wonders on ensuring the atmosphere drips from the model. The OSL work, whilst subtle, really is quite impressive, adding that little extra bit of detail and flair. I love the overall texture this paintjob seems to provide, and that tiny amount of NMM work on the axe head is expertly done. truly a cool model, with lots more on Clayton's page!
Next up, we're being treated to this relatively fresh Stormcast sculpt, by Nicholas. I'm yet to see a cool and gritty black colour scheme for them, so this was lovely to see. Who knew that black would be so much cooler than gold right? Well Nicholas clearly did, and has made it a reality with a really wonderful paintjob. The silver dry brushing (I'm presuming) over the black really allows the weathered effect to come through nicely. Also, the face is pretty fantastic is it not? I mean, just look at those tiny little eyes. What kind of psycho has the ability to paint so small!? Well, the answer is Nicholas, and you should check out his page for more!
3) @hobby_with_han
Third up today is one of my favourite sculpts of all time, pleasantly provided to us from Han. I wish these gaunt fellows had more sculpts across the range, but alas. The choice of colours are a beautiful match for this sculpt, and the blending ability to go with it has done him more justice than he probably deserves. We all know book burning gets you nowhere in life, apart from losing a war and serious socio-economic consequences. I do really love the palette of greens, blues and purples, and I'd love to see more! Go check out her page if you would too!
4) @tobythebrush
Closing the day for us now is Tobias with his glorious Glorfindel (that worked out nicely). It's been a little while since featuring a MESBG sculpt, so it only makes sense to show off one as good as this. The whole piece has been made into such a charming mini diorama, with Tobias sparing no effort in elevating the model with expert basing work. The overall colour scheme of the piece really lends into that noble and pure-esque feel of the elves, and that's a lovely breath of fresh air for me, when usually I'm surrounded by dark and gritty paintjobs. That charming style seems to be a regular thing for Tobias, so go check out his other works!
That marks the end of our first showcase of November. I hope you have enjoyed the artists and their respective artworks today, and I truly hope you go and check them out further! If you don't, then what the hell is your problem? Seriously, go take a good long and hard look at yourself in the mirror, and don't come back. Unless you check these guys out, then you can of course come back anytime you like.
