Weekly Showcase - March 6th 2024

Hello and welcome back to this series looking at all the artwork within the community, in the attempt at providing you all with a little local inspiration. Let's kick start your March off with some visual pleasure, courtesy of the four artists below.

Nicklas is kicking off the show for us all today with his rather large offering. When I saw this model get released, I knew it would be a painters dream, so it's no surprise that there are many wonderful paint jobs circulating the community. This paint job does the model all the justice in the world, and then some, with the alternate colour scheme for the dragons skin. In my humble and hazy opinion, green is the much better colour choice than red, and it's beautifully painted here. The extra work done on the lava themed base is the flaming cherry on top. Great stuff and more to be found at Nicklas' page!

Up next is a little 40k offering, in the form of this militant looking fella. This artist has mastered the grey/blue tones of the armour, which look fantastic as the backdrop behind the little pops of red and black detailing. I'm far from an expert on the lore behind 40k space marines and their sub factions, but I do very much like this armour colour scheme, and it would look great across an army. Also, that expertly fine work on the scribbles on the parchment is amazing. Go and have a look at this artist's page for more art!

Next up is Sean with his blue blooded beasts. As you'll all know, I'm a big fan of the lizards, and these new sculpts are fantastic. I really love the original and unique scheme Sean has given his cold blooded friends, from the black and gold armour, to the black scales of the dino cavalry. I'm used to seeing bright and vibrant schemes for these guys, so it's great to see a cool and dark one. If you like what you see, go and check out Sean's aptly named page for more of his work!

Setting the fireworks off for the night on this showcase is Caro and his beautifully elegant offering. This is a truly impressive model, and it's sheer size is what's causing it to spill out of frame. The paintjob itself is so very smooth, you just know that the sensation of caressing your fingers against it's skin would be worth the odd looks you'd receive. I love the contrasting colours of the cool blue against the deep pinks, with the little flashes of metal to allow the finer details to pop. Really awesome work and an artist more than worth checking out if you like what you see!

That's all we've got for today I'm afraid. But hey, don't cry into your suspicious looking tissue; we'll be back next week with your next dose of weekly inspiration to cure all and any ailments you may have (as long as they are all specifically about having no motivation to paint).
