Well Summer has truly begun, has it not? Though I suppose that's debatable depending on where in the world you're reading this. So you'll just have to take my word for it and get on with your day.

June's first showcase starts off with one of those pieces where it's somewhat irrelevant what I have to say, because just look at it!? The level of detail and patience required to paint this, utilising such a broad spectrum of colour, just blows my mind. Emma has a very unique style of painting, and one which has made it very hard to just pick one picture to show off. Every paintjob she comes out with looks like it probably took far too much time to paint, and I love that. Please go stimulate your retinas by checking out her other work; you won't regret it!
Turning the acid trip level down a notch, we find ourselves looking at this beautifully grim paintjob. I find these kind of colour schemes always ooze with creepy atmosphere and I am here for that at least 5 days a week. I love the dirty green armour and the clean white bone of the skeleton, but the obvious star of the show is the banner. I'm unsure of whether it was freehand or a transfer, but for the sake of rubbing egos, let's just say it was freehand. Check out the rest of this artists work for more gloriously gloomy art!
Ricky here has a style of painting, and a preference on colour schemes, that just really sits very well with me. I always love to see what he's coming up with next, and the work he's done on his Stormcast is more of the same. The colour scheme feels very vintage and realistic, whilst keeping that fantasy element alive. Always great to see alternate schemes for these metal men, and the green and yellow do work perfectly together. I really do advise you to check out his page, so you can see how his paintjobs feel like they're all from the same world he has created!

To finish things of this week, we've got a look at someone else who got finished off. I've started to come across more and more paintjobs of poor unfortunate plastic souls who have met their demise, and I like what I see. Rosie here has made sure that CPR wont be necessary, with this space marine, who seems to be feeling a little light on his feet. If dismemberment wasn't enough, the bullet holes have really added insult to injury, painted with that cool plasma burn effect. I'd like to see more, and you should too, so go check out Rosie's page for more great art!
Well that was fun, wasn't it? That was a rhetorical question, because of course it was fun. I need more help from you to keep the fun going though, and that help is in the form of spreading this blog around, to get more and more artists involved, and sending me your paintjobs so I can showcase them to the world!
