So much art and so little time. How does one deal with such tumultuous thoughts? I guess by losing even more time to looking at even more art. So you can thank your lucky stars that I am here just for you.
1) @elminiaturista
We start off today's showcase with one of my all time favourite paintjob. Juan is an exceptional artist, but really goes all out there with his knowledge and usage of OSL, creating such atmospheric pieces. So much originality being utilised here, specifically with the light from the laser of the little drone. What seems like such a simple process to create, has made it look like a piece of concept art, rather than a piece of painted plastic. I'm in awe, and if you are too, then you should absolutely go check out Juan's page!
I'll start right off by saying that no way does this picture do this piece any justice at all. It's truly an incredibly detailed and large piece, featuring a magical fight in an observatory. I feel so sorry for the caretaker, who is about to have a whole lot of broken glass to clean up. Diorama's are quickly becoming my favourite thing to look at and create, and this one is now up there in my favourites. Adam has really excelled himself with this creation, and clearly the big suits upstairs thought so too, awarding a commended entry for gold demon. I strongly advise you to check out his page so you can see all the little details in every nook and cranny!
3) @laurabpainting
I've been following Laura for some time, given my initial love of Seraphon. She seems to have not only mastered the ability to paint any blue blooded specimen, but to also always do so with original and inspiring colours. Lord Kroak here has received that same treatment, and is looking very pleased with himself, surrounded by such detail and colour. Laura isn't limited to just lizards with her talent though, and consistently pushes to create more inspiring pieces. Go check out her page if you're looking for that sweet sweet inspiration!
What's that? Two Golden Demon entries in this showcase!? Yes, that's right. Here we have Raph's entry, with this utterly beautiful paintjob. If you don't like blues and purples, then you're a fool, as this paintjob has mastered both together. There are so many elements of disgusting levels of talent throughout this piece, I don't really know where to look. All I know for sure is that I would do some naughty things to be able to see a whole army in this amazing colour scheme; Maybe you could make that happen Raph? Go check out his page to see more inspiring pieces!
And that wraps up our showcases for June! We've seen a lot of greatness, and I couldn't be more thankful to the artists who have allowed me to use their pictures to show off their work to the world. It would really help me out if you could get in touch with any of your own work, or anyone else's you would like to be shown off. I'd probably be so grateful, that I might even bake you a cake. Emphasis on the 'might'. The reality is I'll thank you and smile, and we'll both go on our merry way.
