Good morning and happy post independence day for any would-be American reading this. I'm now in the 4th month of creating these weekly showcases, and have really seen such a huge amount of eclectic work. Let's get started with this months offerings then.
1) @kaazmin
Kicking things off today is this beautiful little converted piece from Izabella. The 'anti-teclis' as she calls it, is perhaps the most incredibly painted miniature octopus I have ever seen. Yes admittedly, I haven't seen very many, but even if I had, I reckon this would still take the biscuit. It just fits so perfectly, as if this is the way the model is supposed to look. The colours used and clean and precise details and blending really prove that this an expertly painted model, but it's the originality of the piece that sets it apart. Please go and check out Izabella's page for more beauty!

As a big lover of Tzeentch and alternative colour schemes, I was always going to fall in love with this one. This is a favourite model of mine, and Alba has treated it to a fantastic paintjob. The pastel blue of the skin has an incredible subtle lilac hue to it which can only be obtained with expert blending. It really fits perfectly with the theme of Tzeentch. I'm a big fan also of the little tipped feathers, I haven't seen that before. And finally, just look at those beautifully pink marbled bases. Check out Alba's page for the rest of her Tzeentch goodness!
Everybody loves s good old classic nighthaunt right? Well I do, and luckily I'm writing this blog. Brian brings us this eerily beautiful ghostly lady to lay our eyes on, and lay them on I will. He's mastered the stereotypical ghostly tablecloth, blending the whites into that lovely shade of blue, helping create that iconically classic look. His style of painting on this one also makes the model look ever so slightly reminiscent of Tim Burton's work, and that can only ever be a good thing. Brian paints a huge variety of different models and styles, so make sue you go check him and his page out for more!

As we started this showcase with a little conversion, let's also finish with one. Toby here has provided us a look at this Stormcast model, in which he has converted to play the role of necromancer. He has crafted the cloak from scratch, which is no mean feat (my only attempt ended in a hospital visit). The model itself is looking very grimdark, which tends to be the case when Stormcast are painted in darker colours, and the addition of the little skeletal companion is the cherry on top. Go have a look at what else this guy has to offer!
And with that, we have finished our first showcase of July! Pretty cool eh? No, you don't agree? Well how about you take a trip down from your ivory tower, and give me some of your work to feature, so we can all scrutinize you. I challenge and dare you. That's what I thought, you little whelp. Just kidding, please send me your art.
