Well hello again, thank you for joining us on the last showcase of July. Let's get right into it with this weeks visually pleasing offerings!
1) @trovarion
We start today looking at this little alien bug freak, painted exceptionally well by the talented Christoph. I've never been a massive fan of the box art scheme for these guys, but I find myself very much enjoying this colour scheme. The blending between the shades of blue show Christoph has a mastery of blending, as well as clearly an affinity for the colour blue. The little pink detailing gives perfect contrast, providing perhaps my favourite Tyranid paint job so far. You should go and have a look at Christoph's page to see what else he's got to offer you!
2) @necrominis
Next up we've got something so horrifically ugly and beautiful at the same time, that I'm not sure what my morals and principles are anymore. I'm a big fan of both Tzeentch and conversions, so Joe here has treated me to both. He's taken an already cool looking model, and made sure it's mother won't recognise it when it goes back home for Christmas. A huge amount of imagination and creativity has been involved in this creation, let alone the excellent skill in painting sickly pastel colours. Go check out this artist and the rest of their awesome Tzeentch work!
3) @cadianshock
Following on from putting things where they shouldn't be, this artist has added a little bit of impalement to spice up the model. The paint job is classic and cool, but really it's the added gore that makes this model worth showing off! Very original to maim a poor plastic soul on that sharp sword, it's almost as if the model was designed to be modified in this way. The little spurts of blood are a really cool addition and helps set this gory scene. Do the right thing and check out all the other shots of this piece from this artists page!
Wrapping things up for us today is this big boy and his big boy hammer. I think the paintjobs on these giants often end up being under appreciated, as blending realistic skin tones together will always be much harder than fantasy colours. Just have a look at this guys knees; they're exceptionally realistic, so much so that I'm not even going to ask what he was doing on his knees for the last 7-10 minutes. I'm also in great awe of the grey wood tone that has been applied on the hammer, changing things up from the usual brown. The rest of the model is filled with lovely little details, making it just a wonderful piece of art. Go check this artist out!
That marks the end of this weeks showcase, and consequently, the last showcase of July! Let's all hope that August brings something worth everyone's time. Though let's not kid ourselves; it obviously will.
