Hello again, and the warmest of welcomes during these cold and dark days. If you've got the January blues, then fear not, tomorrow is a brand new day and month. And to tide you over the next 24 hours, here's another does of awesome inspirational art work to get your dusty artistic gears moving!
Will is treating us to our first paint job today, with an absolutely awesome and original take on this big lad. Obviously the paint job here is immaculate, incredibly detailed and smooth. But I'm in love with the amazing coat that Will has crafted for his beer-bellied viking-esque giant. To create such a detailed material from scratch, and have it look like it's simply part of the model, is a feat worthy of all the applause in the world. Please go and check out Will's page for more wonderful work!
Derek is up next with his beautiful green skin. This is such a wonderful paint job, with every element of the model possessing exert work on its details. Despite the gloomy atmosphere, the paint job is still very vibrant, from the wonderful work on blending tones for the skin, to the amazing NMM work for the weapons and armour. Derek has so many fantastic paint jobs, it was very hard to pick just one of them. So I really recommend you go check out his page for yourself, because there's most certainly a paint job for everyone there!

We've got this ghostly creation for you all next, courtesy of Tony. This is a really cool colour scheme for these spiritually evil guys, stepping away from the pale and vibrant tones, to enforce a far darker vibe to the whole piece. Choosing then to use the ghostly green as highlights, allows the overall dark piece to start popping beautifully. I'm really a big fan of this more old school style of painting, and it's been pulled off here masterfully. If you'd like to see some more of Tony's work, head over to his page now!

Closing the show today for all of us, is another awesomely painted green skin and his slightly overweight horse. This artist constantly bashes out amazing paint jobs on their green skins, and it's always a pleasure to see what they come up with next. This is another style of painting I'm really fond of, mixing the old school style with a slight cartoony vibe; I'm here at least 6 days a week for it. If you are too, then make sure you go and head over to this artists page to see some more work!
And that's all she wrote for this week's showcase, and January. Thank goodness for that eh? It's been a long month, but we're through it now, the days will start to get warmer and brighter, and everyone can start at least faking smiles on their soul destroying commutes once again. Whoopee!
