Weekly Showcase - January 10th 2024

Welcome back to the second showcase of this fresh new year! It's gearing up to be a good year (please, I'm begging you) so it only makes sense to have a showcase chock full of talented artists and exceptional paintjobs. Let's get right into it!

First up today is this truly beautiful and darkly vibrant (yes that did make sense) piece provided by this wonderful artist. Using a dark palette allows for the atmosphere of an eery and spooky forest, thick with nature and trees, to ooze from the model. Then the use of those vibrant and almost ghostly greens allow the overall paint job to pop, ensuring nothing is lost in the darker scheme. I really love the style implemented here, and a whole force in this scheme would be a sight to behold. Go check this artist out for more work!

Next up is a beautiful painthjob, with such an impressively long shaft, it almost didn't fit in frame. Luckily for all of us, it does, and we can drool over the beautifully clean work. The colour shame itself is cool and classy, but the brush work behind it is so very neat and expertly done. All of the beautiful little detailing on the trims and highlights pull everything together to form a truly magnificent piece. Everything this artist creates looks fantastic, so please go and give them the attention they deserve!

Now feast your eyes on this grotesquely beautiful paint job, kindly provided to us by Celestin. These sculpts are really cool and full of character, so it's a good job that the paint job does it all the justice in the world. Mastering such a pale skin tone is a true challenge, but that has been pulled off with ease. The war paint across the eye is really cool, as is the exceptional work on creating the saliva lines across the teeth. If you paid any attention to Armies on Parade at the end of 2023, you'll recognise this wonderful artist and their silver awarded board. If you're not aware, then please go check Celestin's page out!

Finally, closing the curtains on this week's showcase is this beautiful display piece worthy paint job. This artist has ensured that every aspect of the model is a feast for the eyes. The blending work on the big old beetle, to allow the blues, purples and black to bounce seamlessly off one another, is a real treat on the retinas. The pattern has then been applied to the wings too, which provides a real beautiful consistency to the piece. I really do love that pattern so much, I might have to get a tweed suit made up in it. Go give this artist the attention they surely deserve!

Thanks for checking out another weekly showcase, and giving the artists featured here a few minutes of your time. The ideology of these showcases only work because you come find yourself a new favourite artist, or seek an injection of inspirational goodness into your veins. Sharing our work with one another might not make the world a better place, but it sure provides a flickering light, in this dark old thing called life. So thank you for your time and for checking these artists out, and make sure you keep ticking, no matter what it takes.

If you would like to be featured in the future, then please get in contact via plasticpreacher@gmail.com or @plasticpreacher on Instagram.

See you next week!
