Welcome to the first showcase of hopefully many! This is just a small selection of some of the wonderful work I have had the pleasure of witnessing this past week (and the artists that were kind enough to allow me to feature a piece of their work for my first showcase!) Make sure to check out the artists' pages by clicking on their names if you like what you see, as I can promise you they will all have far more work worthy of your visual time!

It only seems fitting for our very first feature, to be that of the poster boys of Age of Sigmar; the Stormcast Eternals. And these two are painted beautifully, using a pretty cool subtle colour palette which stays grounded to the original colour scheme, whilst featuring all sorts of green and purple hues, painted very skillfully in a NMM style. This really stood out to me, and made me want to pick up some more Stormcast to try out some new cool paint schemes. Make sure to check out the artist's page to see them and many more in greater detail!
As I explained in my introductory blog, my knowledge before miniature painting of Warhammer, was based upon Total War. That's why I love any models that pre-date Age of Sigmar, because I actually know who and what they are. The Black Guard are the cool gothic emo sad boys of the fantasy world, and this paint job does them almost too much justice! The monochrome style fits perfectly, with the pop of the red ensuring that these guys have a little colour left in their hearts. Check out the artists page for more!

There's just something so visually satisfying to see an entire eco system the size of your thumb, and this work in progress is no different. Using a plinth as the canvas, all of the rock, tree and foliage have been painstakingly applied in great detail. And don't even get me started on the water, which I imagine was created using resin, in what I can also imagine, was an anxiety inducing process. Such beautiful natural colours working together allow you to almost hear what this scene sounds like. I wont ask you to try and smell it though, as the skull would suggest it might not smell like roses. Make sure to check out the artists page!
Now look at this big fella. I grew up with the Lord of the Rings, and so anything related will always hold a warm place in my heart. I always found the trolls to be cute misunderstood beasts, which this guy certainly is. You just know he's thinking about how he's going to apologise to his troll wife and troll kids for taking too many late night drumming lessons. The paint job on him really is exceptional, with the gradients of skin tones bleeding into each other and the drum skin itself. The face is so well done, that it truly conveys a sadness, you can almost see the tears running down his cheeks, vibrating with every pound of his drum. You'll want to ensure you check out this artist's page to see the rest of their work!
And that is all for this week! I figured I would be doing a disservice to the artists I feature, if I included any more than just a few within each blog, but there have been plenty of amazing miniatures I have seen. And isn't it a little comforting, to know that there are so many more wonderful paint jobs and artists yet to be found? If that doesn't sound comforting to you, then maybe you should sit around a warm fire in a cozy wooden cabin, whilst you write the definition of comfort until your fingers bleed.
