This showcase marks the end of a full journey around the sun, and the beginning of the next one. It is a joy to have you all back for the next years worth of weekly showcases, never failing to provide you with your dose of inspiration, every week of the year. And joining you and I in this joyous event, are the following four artists, who have each brought you a special gift in the form of their beautiful art. And my goodness, are they beautiful today.
1) @kuan_tung
Kicking things off today is one of my new favourite artists. He truly creates some of the most beautiful paint jobs I've come across. A true master of the brush, this specific paint job is full of insane detail and texture. From the horses fur, to the armour, every single element of this paintjob is mind blowingly good, it's almost suspiciously good. I think the best thing you can go and do, is check out this artist's page right now, to immediately be hit by a truckload of inspiration.
Yann is providing us with our next paint job, and it's another stunner. I love this artists painting style, feeling a little chalky, but in all of the right ways. It causes the end result of the paint job to drip in atmosphere, and the gritty finish it provides is fantastic. I love the vibe of muck and dirt that Yann has achieved with his painting style and choice of colours on this model, and whilst it looks amazing across the board, it really does suit this rat fella here. Go and check out Yann's page to see more of his wonderful style!
Up next is what is one of my favourite sculpts within Warhammer, from one of my favourite factions. So it's a good job this artist has done the model all the justice in the world, with a fantastic paint job. The lovely tone of blue achieved for the skin contrasts against the burgundy cloth, with the blending of the blue highlights providing real visual pleasure. The colour scheme is tied up nicely with that awesome green glow, and the OSL work tops it all off. Check out this artist's page for more!
Finally today, we've got this beautifully colourful little charmer. A model with a face like that, only deserves the prettiest of colour schemes, and this artist has answered the call. Contrasting the pink and green off each other in an unusual choice of colours, looks absolutely fantastical in the best of ways. The blending of the two has also been pulled off masterfully. The pops of colour courtesy of the mushrooms provide the cherry on top of a beautiful paint job. For more like this, check out this artist's page!
And that's that for this week! What a great selection of paint jobs we've had today. I mean, they always are great, but sometimes you come across a paint job that just presses all of the right buttons, and washes you with an extra bucket of inspirational goodness. I hope the artists, who have kindly shown off their work to you all, have provided you with those same warm feelings.
If not, well...how about you come back next week, or better yet, submit some of your own work for our scrutiny. If you would like to do just that, then please get in touch via here, plasticpreacher@gmail.com or @plasticpreacher via Instagram.
See ya!
