Weekly Showcase - April 24th 2024

Hello and welcome back to our little weekly showcase series, treating you all to a healthy dose of inspiration to kick start your week. (So long as your week begins on a Wednesday, which, let's be honest, would probably make everyone a little happier).

First up today is Liam providing us with another first; in the form of an Old World paintjob! The aesthetic of the Tomb Kings is one of the core components that brought me into Warhammer, so it's great to finally showcase one here! And this one is painted to an exceptional standard, it's the perfect debut! The brush control to create such a smooth and skill paintjob is incredibly impressive, with the cool blue palette achieved masterfully. And don't get me started on that base! So cool, and much more to be found on Liam's page!

Jaren provides us with out next offering, with his grotesquely charming piece of art. The decision to go with a vibrant pink skin is an unusual one, but looks fantastic as the popping contrast of the otherwise green and grimy paintjob. The addition of the eyeballs on the shield really gives this charm school his name. And yet again, we find ourselves with an amazing base that elevates the entire paintjob to an inspirational level. This one is up there with some of my favourite Nurgle paintjobs! If you agree, then go check out Jaren's page!

Up next, we have Filip who has been feeling a little bit blue. Well, what luck that these feelings have transferred into something beautiful and inspirational for the rest of us to enjoy. I love the work that has gone into creating such an atmospheric piece, achieved mostly through the wonderful work of blending all of the different tones of blue at hand. This pops nicely alongside the muted and grounded colours of the creature. Really great stuff and much more to be found over on Filip's page!

And finally today, we have Sam, courteously giving us a last hit of inspiration, through his take on the armoured beefcake. If you know Sam's amazing work, you'll know he often creates far more impressive pieces than this one. But I found myself loving the dark simplicity of this one, that feels like it fits the sculpt so wonderfully. I could say more, but I'll let Sam's recent success at Golden Demon do all the talking for me. If you haven't already, make sure you go check out Sam's page to see why!

That's that for this week folks! I hope you have enjoyed the offerings today, and found at least a smidge of inspiration to be drawn from them all. Make sure you do go and heck out the artists featured, and if their work really has rocked you to your core, make sure to thank them and let them know! If you would like to be featured on a weekly showcase in the future, then please get in touch via here, plasticpreacher@gmail.com or @plasticpreacher via Instagram.

Have a good one!
